GAVISCON ADVANCE ANISEED is indicated for gastric reflux, reflux oesophagitis and heartburn, including heartburn in pregnancy.

Safety Warnings
Each 5 ml of GAVISCON ADVANCE ANISEED contains 53 mg or 2.3 mmol sodium and 3.9 mg or 1.0 mmol. As congestive cardiac failure may result from excessive sodium absorption, GAVISCON ADVANCE ANISEED should be administered with caution to patients on a highly restricted salt diet.
Administration of potassium may cause hyperkalaemia in patients with renal failure. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps may occur. GAVISCON ADVANCE ANISEED suspension contains calcium carbonate (100 mg per 5 ml). Hypercalcaemia or alkalosis may occur following the regular use of calcium carbonate. GAVISCON ADVANCE ANISEED should be administered with caution in patients with congestive heart failure, renal impairment, liver cirrhosis, hypertension, patients on steroids, hypocalcaemia, hypochlorhydia or patients on salt restricted diet.
INTERACTIONS
Large doses of GAVISCON ADVANCE ANISEED may affect the rate and/or extent of absorption of other oral medicines.
HUMAN REPRODUCTION
Gaviscon Advance Aniseed can be used as directed during pregnancy and lactation.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE
SHAKEWELL BEFORE USE.
Adults and children over 12 years: 5 - 10 ml after meals and at bedtime.
Children under 12 years: Not recommended except on doctor’s advice.
SIDE EFFECTS
Less Frequent: Immune system disorders: Urticaria, bronchospasm. Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea,
vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach cramps, flatulence and abdominal distension.
KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT
Very large doses may produce a feeling of abdominal distention. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.
Ingredients
- Each 5 ml contains Sodium Alginate 500 mg in a thickened base containing calcium carbonate, carbomer, fennel flavour, potassium bicarbonate, and purified water.
- Sugar Free Contains sweetener: saccharin sodium 5 mg/5 ml.
- Preservatives: Methylhydroxybenzoate 0,4 % m/v Propylhydroxybenzoate 0,06 % m/v.
